Senior Audit Associate / Lead AuditorBased in Westmont, IL, we are a top-rated public accounting and business advisory firm providing audit, accounting, tax, and consulting services to privately held businesses, nonprofit organizations, and public sector clients.We're seeking a Senior Audit Associate or Lead Auditor with public accounting experience who is ready to lead audit engagements, mentor staff, and advance toward an Audit Manager career path. This role offers direct exposure to firm leadership, meaningful client interaction, and the opportunity to take ownership of complex assurance engagements.Role and Responsibilities:Lead financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations from planning through issuancePerform risk assessments, evaluate internal controls, and develop audit proceduresExecute audit testing, review workpapers, and prepare financial statements and management lettersSupervise, train, and mentor staff auditors while reviewing engagement work for accuracy and qualityManage engagement budgets, timelines, deliverables, and client expectationsServe as a primary contact for client leadership, controllers, and finance teams throughout engagementsIdentify control deficiencies, operational risks, and process improvement opportunitiesCollaborate directly with firm partners on client service, engagement strategy, and professional development initiativesQualifications:5+ years of external audit or assurance experience within a public accounting firmBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceActive CPA license or actively pursuing completion of CPA exam requirementsStrong knowledge of US GAAP, GAAS, financial statement preparation, and internal control evaluationExperience leading audit engagements, managing deadlines, and supervising junior staffStrong client communication, project management, and leadership skillsBenefitsBase Salary Between $90-120kCompetitive Benefits PackageRetirement Savings
