B2U Storage Solutions, Inc. (B2U) is the leading provider of large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) utilizing 2nd life OEM EV battery packs. B2U’s patented energy storage systems are interconnected to the grid, selling energy and grid services into wholesale markets. B2U’s energy storage systems have been operational since 2020. B2U’s second grid connected energy storage system has been operational since November 2023. A third facility is now being converted from PV only to a hybrid storage facility. Additional energy storage systems for B2U’s own portfolio and for customers are in development.

The Sales Engineer acts as the primary technical expert during the sales process, bridging the gap between customer needs, the sales team, and the engineering department. This role involves designing and proposing viable technical solutions for battery energy storage systems (BESS), responding to RFPs, and supporting sales growth.

Responsibilities

• Technical Sales Support : Serve as the technical lead throughout the sales cycle, providing expertise to the business development and account management teams.
\n
• Solution Design & Sizing : Translate customer requirements and RFPs into clear, actionable technical specifications. Use proprietary tools to perform system sizing, identify configurations, and optimize value (e.g., performance modeling, layout, energy density).
\n
• Proposal & Documentation Development : Write detailed technical proposals, create project quotes, prepare drawing packages (single-line diagrams, layouts), and develop cost estimates in response to customer inquiries (RFIs, RFQs, RFPs).

• Customer Engagement & Presentations : Prepare and deliver technical presentations and system demonstrations to diverse stakeholders, including engineers and C-level executives, to explain the product's value proposition.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Act as the liaison between the customer, sales, engineering, and project management teams to ensure seamless project handoff and delivery.

• Contract Negotiation : Lead technical aspects of contract negotiations, including scope of work, performance metrics, and technical documentation.

• Market Intelligence : Maintain a deep understanding of company capabilities, target markets, and competitor technologies, providing feedback on customer needs to product development teams.

Required Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, preferably electrical or mechanical.
\n
• Five years of technical sales, applications engineering, or solution engineering experience, particularly in BESS, solar, or renewable energy.
\n
• Experience with grid-scale projects
\n

Desired/Plus Qualifications

Desired qualifications include experience with utility-scale, C&I, data centers, EV charging. A willingness to travel for customer meetings and site visits.
