What You'll Do

The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the construction process related to our facilities. This position encompasses oversight from initial design through to project completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with our organizational goals and standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of construction processes, budgeting, architectural design, and regulatory permitting, as well as a robust understanding of various trades involved in construction.

Core Contributions

  • Project Oversight: Lead and manage the entire construction process for projects, including design development, contractor selection, and construction management. • Budget Management: Develop, manage, and track project budgets, ensuring financial accountability and adherence to financial guidelines. Proactively identify and address budgetary issues, implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Design Collaboration: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to ensure that project designs meet organizational needs and are feasible within budgetary constraints. Review and approve design plans and modifications to ensure they align with project goals.
  • Contractor Management: Select, negotiate with, and oversee contractors and subcontractors, ensuring high-quality work and accountability to project timelines and specifications. Evaluate contractor performance and resolve any disputes or issues that may arise during the construction process.
  • Communication and Reporting: Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports on project status, budget, and timelines. Foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote effective communication and teamwork.
  • Coordinate and guide the work of subcontractors, consultants, and project partners, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and accountability. Provide direction, clarify expectations, and ensure alignment across all parties involved in project delivery. Promote best practices in construction and project management throughout the organization.

Assets You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction management, preferably within the financial services or corporate real estate sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, building codes, risk management, insurance protocols, and various trades involved in construction.
  • Proven experience in budget development and management, with a strong ability to analyze and forecast financial performance.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Certifications: PMP, LEED AP, CCM are a plus, OSHA 30 required within 6 months.
