Associate Attorney - Personal Injury (Litigation)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our personal injury practice. The ideal candidate will handle all phases of PI litigation from client intake and medical records review through discovery, settlement negotiation, and trial preparation. This role focuses on delivering excellent client advocacy, effective case management, and strong courtroom presence in accident and injury matters.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct client consultations and develop case strategy for personal injury and accident matters.Perform in-depth legal research and draft pleadings, motions, demand letters, and settlement agreements.Manage a diverse caseload, track deadlines, and maintain detailed case files and billing records.Lead discovery efforts including preparing interrogatories, requests for production, review and organization of documents, and coordination of depositions.Review and analyze medical records, bills, and expert reports to assess causation, damages, and settlement value.Negotiate with defense counsel, insurers, and opposing parties to achieve favorable settlements; handle settlement conferences and mediations.Prepare trial exhibits, witness outlines, and trial briefs; represent clients at hearings, trials, and pretrial conferences.Coordinate with expert witnesses, medical providers, and investigators to build evidence and support claims.Maintain regular client communication, provide case updates, and counsel clients on legal options and realistic outcomes.Use case management and e-filing systems to manage workflow and ensure timely compliance with court procedures.QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in good standing.2+ years of litigation experience preferred, ideally in personal injury (PI), accident, or related civil plaintiff work.Proven skills in Litigation, Legal Research, Client Consultation, Case Management, Discovery, and Negotiation.Demonstrated experience reviewing and interpreting medical records and coordinating with medical experts.Strong settlement negotiation experience and a track record of achieving favorable outcomes for clients.Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, with courtroom experience preferred.Ability to manage a heavy caseload, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain meticulous case documentation.Familiarity with e-filing systems, case management software, and electronic discovery tools.High level of professionalism, client-centered service orientation, and ethical judgment.
